I love the tranquility and family time that Hidden Valley offers. If you want the activities of bowling, pool, etc, Seven Springs is a short drive. This is not the 'over the top cray drinking resort', but a super friendly, calm, quiet family resort. The ski shop is reasonably priced and they are also very helpful.
Amanda in Customer Service was terrific in helping me solve an issue, and Deb, the new manager, was just as helpful. we have done both, but private was WAY more effective. I recommend the private lessons as opposed to the group lessons. This year, my 8 year old learned how to ski with a 2 hour private lesson. I can let me 12 year old take off and ski for the day, give him money for lunch, and just let him be a kid and gain confidence. I love Hidden Valley because it is TRULY family friendly.
